The global minerals industry is currently seeing the effects of a rapid increase in demand for the raw materials required to implement emergent low- and zero-CO2 solutions for energy and transportation needs. We encourage submissions focused on the economic potential of the southwestern U.S. as a source for these key and often critical commodities, including research focused on primary mineral deposit genesis and exploration, the potential for battery and energy mineral and metal extraction from secondary sources such as mine and processing waste, and other associated topics. We also strongly encourage submissions from early-career scientists, including undergraduate and graduate students.
