2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2 From: Arianna Soldati <asoldat@xxxxxxxx> Postdoc Position in Magma Rheology at NCSU A fully funded 2-year postdoctoral position in the field of magma rheology is available in the Marine, Earth, and Atmospheric Sciences Department at North Carolina State University under the supervision of Dr. Arianna Soldati, with an expected start date of August 2022. The project is open-ended, and prospective candidates will be able to pursue their own research interests in a cutting edge laboratory environment. Dr. Soldati's laboratory, which has just been renovated, hosts a high-temperature furnace and a concentric cylinder viscometer with controlled atmosphere capabilities. An analogue set up for complementary rheological investigations is being designed. Full rock prep equipment is also available in-house. The group currently comprises two Ph.D. candidates and an undergraduate student. The successful candidate shall hold a Ph.D. by the start date. They will have a strong background in volcanology and/or rheology. Previous lab-based research experience is required.
