From: Nicolas Fournier <nicofournier.volcano@xxxxxxxxx>

Dear colleagues,

We have two vacancies at GNS Science, New Zealand, within the Volcanology
Team. These positions are both full time, permanent positions. Each new
hire will be expected to develop new research in their respective fields.
They will also contribute to volcano monitoring efforts, within the GeoNet
project. Both positions come with flexible site preference and can be
located in either Avalon (Wellington) or Wairakei (Taupo).

The deadline for applications is 19th April 2021.

The first position is for a Volcano Seismologist. We are particularly
looking for someone with waveform modelling experience using seismic and
acoustic (infrasound) data. This position will play a key role in driving
new research directions in the field, with opportunities to use an
extensive seismo-acoustic data set from our monitoring network. We are
looking for someone with experience in seismological data processing with
appropriate coding skills.

(For specific enquiries about this role, contact Steve Sherburn
s.sherburn@xxxxxxxxxx and Nico Fournier n.fournier@xxxxxxxxxx).

The second position is for a Physical Volcanologist. For this position, we
seek someone with strong quantitative skills for modelling volcanic
processes, including magmatic and/or eruptive dynamics. With strong
numerical skills, we seek someone who can build and improve hazard models
for quantitative hazard assessments. (For specific enquiries about this
role, contact Geoff Kilgour g.kilgour@xxxxxxxxxx and Nico Fournier
n.fournier@xxxxxxxxxx)
