Western Colorado University invites applications for a Lecturer in Geology
for a 1-year appointment (renewable based upon strong performance and
availability of funds). The teaching load for this position is three
courses and two labs per semester (24 credit hours annually). Teaching
responsibilities include Geol 311 Igneous and Metamorphic Petrology (with
laboratory that utilizes petrographic microscopes), Geol 315 Earth
Materials (with laboratory) and Geol 101/105 Physical Geology and Lab.



Candidates should possess a Ph.D. in the Earth Sciences with clear
expertise in Mineralogy and Petrology. Strong candidates with ABD status or
a Masterâ??s degree plus substantial professional-level experience will be
considered. The ideal candidate would also have some background in the
geology of the interior Western U.S.
