Spanish Research Council)* The Group of Volcanology of Barcelona (GVB) (https://gvbcsic.wordpress.com/), part of Geosciences Barcelona (https://geo3bcn.csic.es/), CSIC (Spanish Research Council), has a broad expertise on the study of pre-eruptive and eruptive processes, and also develops applied research on the fields of hazard assessment and risk management, and economic and energy resources associated with volcanoes. We conduct basic research on different aspects related to modern and ancient volcanic systems and currently, are mainly working in the Canary Islands (Spain), la Garrotxa Volcanic Field (Spain) and Deception Island (Antarctica). The GVB participates and co-ordinates several national and European research projects and has a world wide collaboration network including over 30 institutions distributed in more than 10 different countries including European and non-European ones. Experimental and numerical modelling of volcanic and related processes oriented to the quantitative assessment of the parameters controlling volcanic processes in active areas.* * â?? Development of computing systems oriented to volcanic hazard assessment and risk management.* * â??
