*OPEN POSITION*

*2 Years Postdoc in ground deformation studies*

The European Center for Geodynamics and Seismology (ECGS) is an Earth
science research foundation supported by the government of the Grand Duchy
of Luxembourg. The key missions of ECGS encompass fundamental research
activities in solid earth sciences, with a particular focus on the
disciplines of seismology and satellite geodesy (InSAR, GNSS), as well as
seismological and geodetic observatory missions. In this framework, ECGS
operates seismic and geodetic networks in Luxembourg and the Virunga
Volcanic Province in Eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo, as well as
the Walferdange Underground Laboratory for Geodynamics. ECGS closely
collaborates with the National Museum of Natural History of Luxembourg
through various projects and activities. The permanent team is composed of
two seismologists, one geodesist, two engineers and an administrative
assistant.

In the context of the expansion of its activities,
*ECGS invites applications for a Postdoc in ground deformation studies.*
The successful candidateâ??s responsibilities will consist in the processing
and analysis of InSAR and GPS data from active volcano-tectonic regions in
Africa and from regions affected by anthropogenic deformations in
Luxembourg and the Greater Region. The position may involve field work.

All candidates applying for this position should be motivated to work in
an interdisciplinary and international framework.

*Qualifications*:   We seek an outstanding individual holding a PhD in
geophysics or a related discipline, with at least two years of experience.
Strong mathematical/numerical skills are essential. The candidate should
have a *strong experience in numerical modelling and inversion. Experience
in GNSS data processing* would be an advantage. Excellent programming
skills in Python, Matlab or equivalent languages are required.

The candidate is expected to work independently and to collaborate within
international projects, requiring initiative, organizational and
communication skills, and respect for project deadlines.

We expect the candidate to be fluent in spoken and written,
scientific English, and if possible, in French.

*Terms of employment: *The successful candidate will be offered a 2 years
full-time post-doc position, with possible extension. Work location will be
Walferdange, Luxembourg. The position involves a competitive salary package.
