Dear all,

A new American Mineralogist Special Collection titled « Halogens in
Planetary Systems » is in preparation (
http://www.minsocam.org/MSA/AmMin/special-collections.html).
We already accepted 6 original articles covering various aspects of
halogens :

- The distribution and abundance of halogens in eclogites: an in-situ SIMS
perspective of the Raspas Complex (Ecuador), by Urann et al.
- Halogens in amphibole and mica from mantle xenoliths: Implications for
the halogen distribution and halogen budget of the metasomatized
continental lithosphere, by Hecker et al.
- Heavy halogen geochemistry of martian shergottite meteorites and
implications for the halogen composition of the depleted shergottite mantle
source, by Clay et al.
- Archean to Paleoproterozoic seawater halogen ratios recorded by fluid
inclusions in chert and hydrothermal quartz, by Burgess et al.
- New insights on Br speciation in volcanic glasses and structural controls
on halogens degassing, by Louvel et al.
- In-situ measurements of magmatic volatile elements, F, S and Cl by
electron microprobe, secondary ion mass spectrometry, and elastic recoil
detection analysis, by Rose-Koga et al.

We invite new original contributions to enrich this Special Collection. We
welcome any article project representing a step forward for our knowledge
and understanding of halogens abundance, distribution, and behaviour in
terrestrial and extra-terrestrial systems.
Submission deadline: 31 August 2020
Instructions for authors are available here:
http://www.minsocam.org/MSA/AmMin/instructions.html. Note that an
"Implications" section is required, it concludes the paper.
To submit your paper please go to: https://aminsubmissions.msubmit.net and
when you have the appropriate screen please pick the special collection
from the pulldown menu.

We look forward to your contributions!
