The School of Geosciences (http://hennarot.forest.usf.edu/main/depts/geosci/)
at the University of South Florida is now accepting applications for
an *Instructor
of GIScience* (Job Opening ID 23967) with a start date of August 7, 2020.
The application period will remain open until filled with applicant review
beginning January 13, 2020.

*DUTIES:*

The School of Geosciences at the University of South Florida seeks to fill
a 9 month, full-time Instructor position in the field of GIScience. The
GIScience Instructor will teach introductory and advanced level courses in
GIS, including graduate courses in his/her specialty area. The successful
candidateâ??s area of specialty will complement existing school strengths in
geography, environmental science, and geology, which include GIScience,
health, transportation, natural hazards, water, quantitative literacy, and
geocomputation. Salary is negotiable.

*QUALIFICATIONS (Education & Experience):*

*Minimum Qualifications:*

Master's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate field of
Geography, GIS, or related field or equivalent qualifiations based on
professional experience and otherwise qualified to perform assigned duties.
Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Instructor.

*Preferred Qualifications:*

Doctoral degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate field of
Geography, GIS, or related field. Preference will be given to applicants
with at least one year of teaching experience in GIS.

Please note: Applications from individuals who are ABD will be accepted but
the doctoral degree must be conferred by start date of the appointment.
