The volcanology and volcano seismology groups at Drexel University
(Philadelphia, USA) are recruiting PhD students! Weâ??re expecting several
positions to be available, for a start in September 2020. These
opportunities are supported by departmental assistantships, and external
funding sources.

Successful applicants would work in the groups of Drs Vanderkluysen or
Lough in the Department of Biodiversity, Earth & Environmental Science.
Projects that are ongoing or in development include:
* Origin and emplacement of Large Igneous Provinces, with particular
emphasis on the Deccan Traps (India)
* Characterization of fine particles and aerosols released in explosive
volcanic eruptions
* Eruptive history, volcanic degassing, and volcanic hazards on Bioko
Island (Equatorial Guinea, Central Africa)
* Seismicity on Bioko Island (Equatorial Guinea, Central Africa)
* Seismicity and subglacial volcanism in West Antarctica

Students interested in the volcanology group at Drexel can contact me
directly at loyc@xxxxxxxxxx, and acl93@xxxxxxxxxx for those with interests
in seismology. We would also be happy to answer your questions in person at
the upcoming Fall meeting of AGU in San Francisco.

Application deadline: January 15, 2020
