Weâ??re expecting several positions to be available, for a start in September 2020. These opportunities are supported by departmental assistantships, and external funding sources. Successful applicants would work in the groups of Drs Vanderkluysen or Lough in the Department of Biodiversity, Earth & Environmental Science. Projects that are ongoing or in development include: * Origin and emplacement of Large Igneous Provinces, with particular emphasis on the Deccan Traps (India) * Characterization of fine particles and aerosols released in explosive volcanic eruptions * Eruptive history, volcanic degassing, and volcanic hazards on Bioko Island (Equatorial Guinea, Central Africa) * Seismicity on Bioko Island (Equatorial Guinea, Central Africa) * Seismicity and subglacial volcanism in West Antarctica Students interested in the volcanology group at Drexel can contact me directly at loyc@xxxxxxxxxx, and acl93@xxxxxxxxxx for those with interests in seismology.
