On behalf of the organizing committee of the 2020 International Geological
Congress, we would like to invite the volcanological community to submit
contributions to next yearâ??s IGC meeting in New Delhi, India.

The International Geological Congress (IGC) was first held in Paris in
1878. Now meeting every 4 years, it remains one of the major international
gatherings of the geological community.

The 36th IGC will take place in New Delhi, India, on 2â??8 March 2020. Three
sessions, in particular, could be of interest to volcanologists:

*15.1 Continental Flood Basalts and related volcanics: Current status of
knowledge and future work possibilities*

*15.2 Island Arc volcanics*

*15.3 Volcanism and its influence on human civilization*

The program also includes relevant sessions focusing on geochemistry,
igneous petrology, geohazards, and kimberlites.

Abstract submission is *free* until *September 15, 2019*!
