The European Center for Geodynamics and Seismology (ECGS) is an Earth
science research foundation supported by the government of the Grand Duchy
of Luxembourg.
The key missions of ECGS encompass fundamental research activities in solid
earth sciences, with a particular focus on the disciplines of seismology
and satellite geodesy (InSAR, GNSS), as well as seismological and geodetic
observatory missions.
In this framework, ECGS operates seismic and geodetic networks in
Luxembourg and the Virunga Volcanic Province in Eastern Democratic Republic
of the Congo, as well as the Walferdange Underground Laboratory for
Geodynamics.
