2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2 From: Jean-Francois Smekens <Jean-Francois.Smekens@xxxxxxx> Dear Colleagues, Please consider submitting an abstract to the following session to be held at the AGU Fall Meeting in San Francisco, CA, on December 9-13, 2018: V037 - "Multi-scale remote sensing for volcanological studies" https://agu.confex.com/agu/fm19/prelim.cgi/Session/78048 Volcanic eruptions are among the most dynamic processes on the Earthâ??s surface and shallow interior. An ever-growing array of imaging techniques is now revolutionizing our ability to record this activity, facilitated by increasingly smaller, cheaper, and better-performing imaging sensors. These advances have led to innovative approaches for monitoring eruptions with high spatial, spectral, and temporal resolutions. Surface and atmospheric expressions of eruptive and intrusive processes, including plumes and deposits, erupted lava, and hydrothermal activity are ideal targets for imaging methods and provide insight into eruption, conduit, and magmatic system dynamics. We invite abstracts that make use of ground, airborne/UAS, and/or satellite imaging techniques at any wavelength to address scientific questions in volcanology, including but not limited to thermal monitoring, UV cameras, high-speed video, structure-from-motion, and multi- or hyper-spectral imagery. We are particularly interested in studies that make use of imaging techniques to quantify and address fundamental aspects of eruption dynamics Conveners: Brett Carr (Columbia University), Hannah Dietterich (USGS), Elise Rumpf (USGS), Jean-Francois Smekens (Northern Arizona University) The deadline for abstract submission is Wednesday, July 31. 2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2 ============================================================== Volcano Listserv is a collaborative venture among Arizona State University (ASU), Portland State University (PSU), the Global Volcanism Program (GVP) of the Smithsonian Institution's National Museum of Natural History, and the International Association for Volcanology and Chemistry of the Earth's Interior (IAVCEI).
