Postdoctoral Research Scientist in Physical Volcanology and Geodynamics
The Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory at Columbia University invites applications for a full-time Postdoctoral Research Scientist position in Physical Volcanology and Geodynamics. The successful candidate will join on-going projects focused on lava flow emplacement, lava dome and volcano stability, magma rheology, and flow of multiphase materials. The candidate will join the large and growing Seismology, Geology & Tectonophysics division. The position is a one-year appointment, with the opportunity of continuation depending on progress and availability of funding.

Requirements:
Ph.D. in geophysics, physics, computer science or a related discipline is required. Experience in numerical modeling of geodynamic processes, a good understanding of fluid mechanics and rheology, and programming experience are highly desired.
