AIV - International School in Volcanology 2016
*****************************************************************************************************
Dear Collegues,
we would like to bring your attention to the forthcoming AIV - International School in Volcanology 2016 "From field data to volcanic hazard assessment: the case of Mt Vesuvius and Campi Flegrei caldera" will be held from Saturday September 24th to Friday September 30th, 2016 at the INGV – Osservatorio Vesuviano, Naples, Italy.
The School is aimed at discussing the contribution of field-based volcanological data for hazard assessment. Lectures and field work will be focused on the Neapolitan volcanoes case studies and particularly to illustrate the path that takes from field work, to definition of scenarios, to numerical modeling, to mapping of relevant hazards and related impact. The school is organized with two days of lectures and open discussion and three days of fieldtrip. In the field short presentations will be addressed to solicit discussion on the importance of field data collection for hazard assessment at a central volcano or at a large caldera.
The school is addressed to Graduate and Ph.D. students and young researchers in volcanology
