NISAR Application workshop – registration open
*****************************************************************************************************
2015 NISAR Applications Workshop, Oct 13-15, NASA Ames Conference Center
The NASA-ISRO Synthetic Aperture Radar mission (NISAR) is an L- and S-band SAR satellite with a global observation plan that is scheduled to launch in 2020. The NISAR Applications Workshop will focus on constructing a 5-year roadmap for developing the suite of products and software to support the needs of the diverse NISAR applied science end user community. Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) data has been or has the potential to be applied to a diverse set of hazard response and land management problems, including post-disaster damage assessment, volcano deformation, urban and structural monitoring, permafrost degradation, wetlands water level change, ocean wind measurements, sea-level rise, vegetation disturbances, and agricultural land use.
More information on the workshop, and registration, is available here:
Also, we encourage everyone who registers to present a poster at the workshop – this will be a great venue for sharing information on existing SAR-related projects, as well as presenting new projects, ideas for future applications, and/or presentations on information needs from attendees who are interested in learning more about using SAR-based observations for their decision support, monitoring, or resource management programs. We look forward to the poster sessions on Wednesday as a time for workshop participants to share their experiences, ideas, and challenges for using SAR data in general, and NISAR data in particular. Plenary presentations are still being decided by the organizing committee, who will be looking at the list of poster presentations for ideas.
Please forward this notice to others who may be interested and let me know if have any questions about the workshop.
Cheers,
Sue
