Dear Colleagues,
we would like to bring your attention to the forthcoming international course "Modelling of fragmentation processes and ash production" will be held from Monday June 15th to Friday June 19th, 2015 at the Department of Physics and Geology, University of Perugia, Perugia, Italy.

The course is organized within the VERTIGO (Volcanic ash: FiEld, expeRimenTal and numerIcal investiGations of prOcesses during its lifecycle) training activities. VERTIGO is a multi-Partner ITN (Initial Training Network) funded under the FP7 Framework “FP7-PEOPLE-2013-ITN” (http://vertigo-itn.eu).

The course will focus on fractal analysis of fragmentation processes during volcanic explosions and particle dispersion in turbulent jets. Lectures and exercises will allow participants a full immersion experience into this hot topic in volcanology. Further information and detailed program can be found on the VERTIGO web site: http://vertigo-itn.eu/events/modelling-of-fragmentation-processes-and-ash-production/)

The workshop is open to all, though the number of participants will be limited to 30. There is no registration fee and registration is on a "first-come, first-serve" basis.

Double room accommodation for 30 persons (15 rooms) is offered by the university accommodation service at the price of eight euros per night (additional 5 euros per person will be charged for the whole duration of the stay for room servicing).

For the course registration please contact the local administration (Mrs. Lucilla Arcaleni: lucilla.arcaleni@xxxxxxxxx) of the Department of Physics and Geology.
