Dear Colleagues,

We would like to invite interested AGU members to consider our session for the Fall Meeting. If you have something of particular interest that you would like to showcase, we do have a couple of invitations left for this session that we could consider for your work. Email steven.anderson@xxxxxxxx if you are interested in an invitation (by June 20), or if you have questions.

Steve Anderson (UNC) and David Finnegan (CRREL)

V044. Technological Advances in the Monitoring and Study of Active Terrestrial and Submarine Volcanic Processes

Research and monitoring efforts that focus on active volcanic processes advance markedly as new technologies are adapted for use in these challenging field settings. Systems that can be deployed remotely provide opportunities for collecting time-series data in settings that would otherwise pose significant risks to the operators. Other advances still require operators to work where significant hazards exist, but minimize the time spent in these areas through enhanced data acquisition rates. We invite papers that focus on new technologies applied in volcanic systems, including but not limited to full-waveform LiDAR, photogrammetry, thermal remote sensing and other geophysical tools
