Dear Colleagues:

We would like to draw your attention to the following session at AGU this year and hope you consider submitting an abstract.

V047  The role of fluids in evolving magmatic-hydrothermal systems

Aqueous fluids moderate the physical and chemical evolution of magmatic-hydrothermal systems, including, but not limited to, affecting magma viscosity, rates of crystallization, element diffusivities, isotope fractionation, magma oxidation state and the stability of redox sensitive minerals, the mechanics of magma mixing and convection, the style of volcanic eruption, the development of magmatic ore deposits, and ultimately the element cycling between the crust, mantle and atmosphere. This session welcomes contributions from researchers who use field, experiments, and/or theory to quantitatively constrain the role of aqueous fluid(s) in magmatic-hydrothermal systems

Submission deadline: August 8, 2012

Conveners:  Adam Simon (UNLV) and Michael Rowe (Washington State Univesity)

Invited Speakers:

Craig Manning

Jake Lowenstern

Jim Webster

Christian Huber
