Dear All,

We are pleased to announce a new Professorial post in Geohazards as part of Durham University’s major academic investment and development strategy:

Professor in Advanced Computational Modelling of Geohazards.

We seek an outstanding Computational Geoscientist with a strong track record in the application of advanced computational modelling techniques to solve problems within the broad category of Geohazards. This appointee will build on existing and emerging strengths in volcanology, landslides, mass flows and fault reactivation, in the Departments of Earth Sciences and/or Geography. The successful applicant will link with the Institute of Hazard, Risk and Resilience (IHRR), to underpin state-of-the-art computational modelling of hazard-inducing geophysical processes. [Potential home department: Earth Sciences]

Please find vacancy details at http://joindurham.com/professorships/vacancies/view/18 and the deadline for application is 8 June 2012.

Please address any queries either through the enquiries form on the website or directly to me.

Best wishes,

Claire Horwell
