CALL FOR NOMINATIONS FROM AGU: HISAKI KUNO AWARD
The Hisashi Kuno Award to recognize the scientific accomplishments of
junior scientists who make outstanding contributions to the fields of
volcanology geochemistry and petrology. The intent is to award and
highlight excellence in research performed during and in the seven years
after the Ph.D. Deadline is 1 May 2012.
The nomination file should include: (1) a nominating letter from a
colleague, (2) a CV for the candidate, (3) a list of publications for
the candidate, (4) up to three supporting letters.
The nomination file should be submitted electronically as a single pdf
file to the Chair of the Committee: Bruce Houghton at
bhought@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Eligibility - Awardees must be members of AGU at the time of nomination.
The Award is based on the quality of publications arising from work
performed up to seven years past the receipt of the Ph.D. Awardees must be
members of AGU at the time of nomination and within seven years of the
award of the Ph.D. on Jan 1st of the year of the Award.
The VGP website lists Kuno Award past winners and provides further
instructions on how to nominate.
