Following
a visit to Sakurajima from 3-11 April, new images of explosive activity
have been incorporated in the following webpage:
In addition, two video clips showing explosive eruptions have been uploaded on youtube:
Activity
is high at the moment but was irregular (compared to Dec. 2009-Jan.
2010 visit when the other images on the webpage were made) during the
viewing period with some long periods of weak ash venting during which
no explosive eruptions occurred. Magnitude of the explosive eruptions
appeared similar based on visual
observations.
