A 3-year PhD position in experimental petrology/geochemistry is open at the Institute for Mineralogy, Leibniz University Hannover.
The aim of the research will be the experimental simulation and interpretation of magma formation, storage and differentiation
processes related to the bimodal magmatism of the Snake River Plain – Yellowstone hotspot track. The experimental expertise at the
Institute for Mineralogy with high pressure – high temperature techniques will be combined with analytical work (e.g. microprobe, infrared spectroscopy).

Precondition for the application is a diploma, master or equivalent certificate in geosciences. We are looking for a person with a strong commitment to research,
a solid background in (geo)chemistry and/or geosciences, and experience in laboratory and analytical work.
