Excellence Fellowships for a Master of Science at the University of Geneva

I am pleased to announce that the Ecole Lémanique des Sciences de la Terre (i.e., a joint effort of the University of Geneva and University of Lausanne, Switzerland) is now offering a new Master program in Geological Risk providing students with a training in experimental fluid dynamics for the analysis of hazardous flows, numerical solutions for geoscientific problems and quantitative assessments of natural hazards associated with a multidisciplinary approach to strategies for risk management and risk reduction.
In addition, the Faculty of Science of the University of Geneva aims at stimulating academic excellence by providing financial support to top students from all over the world, who are interested in following a Master Course. Excellence Fellowships will consist of a maximum amount of CHF 15’000/year. They are initially awarded for the first year, but are renewed for the entire duration of the chosen Master program (3 or 4 terms) if the candidate’s progress at the end of the first term is evaluated positively.
Deadline for applications: March 15, 2010
Applications are open to highly motivated students that have successfully completed their bachelor, ranking among the top 10% of their institutions, and that intent to follow a Master program at the University of Geneva.
