Geological Rock Deformation and Transformation (6 years/tenure track) The Candidate’s research program should complement and add to the research profile of our department (see http://www.geo.uni-muenchen.de/depearthenv/index.html). A good foundation in endogenic geological process (e.g. Metamorphic Petrology or Geological Rock Deformation) is a prerequisite. The successful candidate will be expected to teach Endogenic Geology and Petrology/Deformation of Metamorphic Rocks at the Bachelor and Masters level, in addition to the supervision of doctoral candidates. 2. Geological Earth Surface Processes (6 years/tenure track) The Candidate’s research program should complement and add to the research profile of our department (see <http://www.geo.uni-muenchen.de/depearthenv/index.html> http://www.geo.uni-muenchen.de/depearthenv/index.html). A good foundation in exogenic geological processes (e.g. Sedimentology or Sedimentary Basin Dynamics) is a prerequisite. The successful candidate will be expected to teach Exogenic Geology and Sedimentology at the Bachelor and Masters level, in addition to the supervision of doctoral candidates. Additional information that applies for both available positions: * Willingness and ability to obtain research funding, to participate in field training and to cooperate in the administrative self-government of the University are required. * The candidate should provide a CV and copies of 3 publications. A short description of research and teaching aims are desired. * Prerequisites for the position are a doctoral degree, teaching skills and a formal post-doctoral lecture qualification (Habilitation) or evidence of comparable academic achievements. The initial appointment will be for six years. After positive evaluation, the appointment can become permanent (but no sooner than 3 years after the initial appointment). In exceptional cases involving outstanding qualifications, the appointment may be permanent from the beginning. * In general the age of 52 should not be exceeded at the time of appointment, though exceptions may be considered if outstanding. * The University of Munich is interested in increasing the number of female faculty members.
