Dear Colleagues

GeoCanada 2010 will be held May 10th-14th of 2010, in Calgary, Alberta.
http://www.geocanada2010.ca/ <http://mail.gov.nt.ca/exchweb/bin/redir.asp?URL="">>

We would like to draw your attention to the session "Cratons, Kimberlites and Diamonds" listed under the "Earth and Planetary Evolution" theme.

This session covers the fields of (1.) deep lithosphere research (through mantle xenolith/xenocryst and in situ diamond studies), (2.) origin and expressions of kimberlite magmatism (from experiments and geochemical studies to field observations and deep-lithosphere geophysics), and (3.) advances in kimberlite and diamond exploration techniques (indicator mineral chemistry, geothermobarometry).

The session is expected to be scheduled during the last two days of the conference (13th or 14th of May) to achieve temporal proximity with the one day workshop "Kimberlites and Related Rocks in the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin" organized by Roy Eccles and George Read and directly following the conference (May 15th).

Abstract submission is now open at
http://www.geocanada2010.ca/index.php?page=abstract-submission <http://mail.gov.nt.ca/exchweb/bin/redir.asp?URL="">>  and will be available until January 15th, 2010.

We hope to see you all in Calgary.

Thomas Stachel (U. of Alberta),

Maya Kopylova (U. of British Columbia),

Aleksandar Miskovic (Northwest Territories Geoscience Office)
