From: Ray Cas <ray.cas@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>
************************************************************************************************

Professor Ray Cas and Dr. Jonathan Castro (newly appointed to Monash)
invite enquiries from postdoctoral researchers interested in undertaking
postdoctoral research with the Volcanology Research Group in the School
of Geosciences. Several competitive schemes are now open for
applications for 2010, as listed below. Applicants MUST have been
awarded their PHD and should have strong track records with at least
several publications in leading international journals. Applications
will require research proposals and so some thought will need to be
given to the research that applicants would like to undertake during a
postdoc appointment at Monash University.

The following postdoctoral research fellowship schemes are available for
2010, with deadlines approaching soon:

1. Margaret Clayton Women In Research Postdoctoral Fellowship for 2010.
This Fellowship Scheme is only open only to women who have been awarded
their PhD and are within 5 years of graduating as of 3rd July 2009. The
Fellowship is for a 3 year period. The deadline of applications is 3rd
July 2009. For details go to:
http://www.sci.monash.edu.au/research/clayton-fellowship.html

2. Monash Fellowships Program for 2010.
Applicants must already be PhD graduates, with more than 2 years and
less than 8 years of postdoctoral research experience as of the 1st
September, 2009. Fellowships are for 5 years, and in addition to salary
and generous superannuation benefits, successful applicants will be
awarded up to Australian$50k per year for 5 years of research funding.
Only 4 Fellowships across all scientific disciplines will be awarded and
so all applicants must have excellent track records, with numerous high
quality publications in leading international journals. The closing date
for applications is 31st July, 2009, and further details and
requirements of the application process are available at:
http://www.monash.edu.au/researchoffice/mu/monash-fellowships.html

3. Endeavour Research Fellowships for 2010
Applicants must have a PhD degree. The fellowships provide support for
visits of between 4 to 6 months. 117 Fellowships across all disciplines
nationally are available. For details and guidelines go to:
http://www.endeavour.deewr.gov.au/international_applicants/research_fellowships.html
