We cordially invite contributions to session SE66 of the upcoming
Asia-Oceania Geosciences Society (AOGS) meeting in Singapore. Please
note the session is broadly defined (by intent), and that March 15 is
the deadline for abstract submission.

Session details are as follows:

Session Details

Section: SE - Solid Earth

Session Title: Recent and past eruptions of the Asia-Pacific region

Main Convener:
Prof. Chris Newhall (Earth Observatory of Singapore, Nanyang
Technological University, Singapore), cnewhall@xxxxxxxxxx

Co-convener(s):
Dr. Surono (Center for Volcanology and Geological Hazards Mitigation,
Indonesia), surono@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Dr. Renato Solidum (Philippine Institute of Volcanology and
Seismology, Philippines), renato_solidum@xxxxxxxxx

Session Description:

Case studies and comparisons of eruptions aid understanding of
pre-eruption and eruptive processes in general. Papers in this session
can examine eruption precursors, dynamics, and effects, and the roles
of regional and local tectonics, petrology, volcanic degassing, and
groundwater. Observational, experimental, and modeling approaches are
welcome.

More information about AOGS in general and about its 2009 meeting may
be found at www.asiaoceania.org.
