************************* Home Reef ASTER satellite images From: Alain Bernard ************************* Dear All, The new island built by the Home Reef August 2006 eruption is visible on the CVL web site thanks to ASTER satellite. http://www.ulb.ac.be/sciences/cvl/homereef/homereef.html The new island is located at 18.99S and 174.77W and was 800 m long and 400m wide as on October 4, 2006. Hot lakes are visible on the ASTER thermal bands, maximum temperature measured: 64.7C. Since this is an ephemeral edifice, be quick to have a look at it.
