**************************************************************************** Fall AGU Session: Recent Advances in the Measurement of Volcanic Emissions **************************************************************************** From: Matt Watson <Matt.Watson@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> We would like to encourage abstract submissions to the following session at the Fall AGU meeting. We have tried to make the remit as broad as possible in the hope of capturing contributions from as wide an audience as possible. Please forward this email to any potentially interested parties. For any further information, please contact Matt Watson (Matt.Watson@xxxxxxxxxxxxx), Gregg Bluth (gbluth@xxxxxxx) or Clive Oppenheimer (co200@xxxxxxxxx) for further information. __ V32 : Recent Advances in the Measurement of Volcanic Emissions. Advances in technology are facilitating a revolution in ground and space-borne measurements of volcanic gases and aerosols are undergoing a technical revolution at several spatial scales. For example, DOAS is quickly replacing COSPEC as the technique most used to determine SO2 emission rate measurements. Plume tomography and imaging techniques are being developed to investigate plume dynamics and transport, and satellite-based retrievals of volcanogenic species are becoming ever more sophisticated as newer and more sensitive sensors are launched. In this session we hope to engage the broad community of researchers from diverse backgrounds with an interest in measuring volcanic emissions. These might include those from physical volcanology, climatology, hazard mitigation, environmental sciences and health. ============================================================== To unsubscribe from the volcano list, send the message: signoff volcano to: listserv@xxxxxxx, or write to: volcano-request@xxxxxxxx To contribute to the volcano list, send your message to: volcano@xxxxxxxx Please do not send attachments. ==============================================================
