***************************************************************************** Approaching deadline, JVGR Special Issue "Reducing Volcanic Risk in Islands" ***************************************************************************** From: Nemesio Perez <nperez@xxxxxxx> Dear Colleagues and Friends, Just 9 DAYS LEFT to complete a list of potential contributions of a JVGR Special Issue on "Reducing Volcanic Risk in Islands". This is an old idea which was born from the International Symposium "Reducing Volcanic Risk in Islands" and it has been rescued from the recent scientific meeting GARAVOLCAN 2006 (http://garavolcan.iter.es/), which took recently place from May 22 to 26, 2006, also at Tenerife (Canary Islands, Spain). Up today we had received 12 potential contributions, but we are looking for additional contributions to be sure of being a well accepted proposal by the JVRG editorial team, which are already interested on it. This potential JVGR special volume is planned to bring together manuscripts by researchers from different disciplines and civil protection specialists who share a common goal, reducing volcanic risk, but who historically have had only limited interactions with each other. Manuscripts related to volcano monitoring techniques as well as emergency plans are not restricted to island environments. The deadlines related to this manuscript are: * Deadline for the list of potential contributions to send to JVGR editors: June 16, 2006 * Deadline for submission of papers: September 30, 2006 * Reviewers comments deadline: December 15, 2006 * Revised manuscripts due: Febraury 28, 2007 * Potantial publication date: August 2007 Cheers, Nemesio M.
