********************************************************** Seeking participants for 2006 Ol Doinyo Lengai expedition ********************************************************** From: Frederick Belton <fbelton3555@xxxxxxxxx> We are seeking one or two people who would be interested in joining our 2006 expedition to OL Doinyo Lengai volcano in Tanzania. Duration of the journey from Arusha, Tanzania will be 8-9 days and will include 6 nights camping near the active crater. This is an expedition for "hard-core" volcanophiles because Lengai is a very tough climb, and extended camping at the crater is not always a comfortable experience. The expedition camp will be located in the inactive but safe south crater, a 10-15 minute walk from the active crater. Dates are approximately 3-11 Aug 2006 and will include a full moon and lunar perigee. The expedition, which focuses exclusively on the craters of Ol Doinyo Lengai, would be ideal for those who would like to combine it with other activities in the region such as game drives or climbing Kilimanjaro. Currently there are two confirmed expedition members.
