Our one-and-only 2810 seems to have a firmware bug, whereby setting an
untagged VLAN using the CLI is OK but setting the same VLAN using SNMP results in it sending tagged packets. (I haven't tried power-cycling it yet...)

That sounds like the kind of behaviour that I had here .... if power-cycling fixes your problem then it is the same.
