Clue needed: arm64 VM on my laptop

I have lots of experience running VM's using VMM, where the VM and host are both Intel-based, 32- or 64-bit VM's.  Now I need to run a 64-bit RaspberryPi machine, I'd like to test (virtualize) that host, which will be my first attempt at an ARM64 VM, or any "non-native" VM.

Obviously, searching Google for clues is not working out well, and the VMM docs themselves are vast.  Give me some hints?

Thanks as always,
Michael
