Hi all.

Thanks for all your replies and sorry for the delay in replying.

I have sorted this out now by installing Centos 6.6 x86_64 on a spare laptop.

This gives me a more up to date set of virtualisation tools.

Also I will not have any issues connecting to the LAN to use the virt-* tools from my laptop on the remote xen VM host server.
