The map handler is entirely within a "#if !GTK_CHECK_VERSION(3, 0, 0)"
block, so this change only affects the gtk2 build. The bug doesn't
exist in the gtk3 build (which kind of makes me wish that we could
simply drop support for gtk2 as you suggested recently...)
