As general rule of thumb I'd say for guests released around 2010 + later
'q35' is fine, otherwise better pick 'pc' (once we don't have
regressions any more, like ahci breaking live migration).  The
virt-manager ui could say so, or we just put that into libosinfo and
pick automatically.
