The binaryskip-patch is not only part of the unpronouncable multipatches, but is a well maintained single patch: http://www.saunalahti.fi/~rahrenbe/vdr/patches/vdr-2.1.6-binaryskip.patch.gz I really like it and for me it is the most usefull idea: you start with 90 s skips, and every time you change skipping direction the skip time decreases. It's perfekt to narrow to an arbitrary point in a recording. You get the best of all ideas mentioned here without wasting a rc-key. Just my two cents.
