Maybe most of you heard about it, but for those who didn't here is
thread about deeper integration of XBMC and VDR

As author has written:
"This is for administration and setup of VDR. It's quite hard to setup
VDR and all of its plugins without a GUI. VDR provides.e.g. menus for
the various plugins to adjust parameters. I already added a parameter
for VNSI, setup for timeshift will follow."
