With that hardware I'd strongly suggest to set up libcle266 with
softdevice (provided that you get softdevice working/compiling with
the latest VDR). See
http://www.mellander.org/per/projects/linux/?chapter=epia-hw-cle266
(or search for cle266/libcle266). It will allow you to utilize much
more of the hardware decorder in your chipset, and OSD should work
with this setup.
