Hmm ... not really solution to the problem you try to debug, but could be a solution for you. Have you ever tried: a) using epgsync to get the EPG from the Sat you can not watch but has good EPG and copy it to your local station b) limit the search timer with a channels group to only the stations you can receive. Like that you should be able to use searchtimer you not need to adjust and no timers on channels you can receive.
