The attached patch should handle this - in a way. Ofcourse, the elapsed
time of shown subtitle should be stored when paused and re-set after the
replaying has started again. But it would complicate the patch and I
don't see any real-life benefits for it.

Thanks. But with a quick test with VDR 1.7.11 I could not get the subtitles to stay visible. They still disappear after their lifetime has been spent.
