Dear list, can a knowledgeable person please write how long the BIOS takes to do its stuff until the boot loader or the operating system boots. And just to have a random figure, how long does the operating system take to get to the login screen? I know it depends a lot on the hardware and software configuration, so please mention this to (storage, distribution, Linux kernel version). Thanks, Paul
