The support for MPEG-4 comes in the form of codecs included on a CD that
is shipped with the card. The card itself supports MPEG-4 just like any
other: regardless of the encoding used the card passes the broadcasted
material to a piece of software, which in turn tries to decode it. VDR
can also do that when patched with Reinhard Nissl's h.264 patch and used
together with a software output plugin.
