Hi, some commercial products (LCD TV sets, mostly) now start to offer a feature named AVC that is meant to prevent ad blocks from being significantly louder than the rest of the programme. While it's clear that this requires on-line detecting advertising (as opposed to off-line processing with noad), is anybody working on such a feature? The bad news is that there's no easy way of turning ad volume down when using AC3 or PCM over SPDIF by some way... softdevice could do something about it because it needs to demux the MPEG stream anyway. Any idea? (German readers: Sharp just announced a TV set with AVC for the Internationale Funkausstellung in Berlin - http://www.spiegel.de/netzwelt/tech/0,1518,498663,00.html) -- Time is nature's way of making sure that everything doesn't happen at once. _______________________________________________ vdr mailing list vdr@xxxxxxxxxxx http://www.linuxtv.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/vdr
