streamdev & xine plugins

Hi list
I have trouble setting my new notebook as vdr-streamdev client
I have this setup

server side
P4 2.4 GHz processor
512 RAM
twinhan budget dvb-s card
Mandriva 10.1 with kernel updated to 2.6.16.9
vdr 1.3.41
xine plugin 0.7.6
streamdev cvs around may 2005
few other plugins

client side
Toshiba sattelite M70/340
centrino 1.73 GHz
512 RAM
SUSE 10.1
vdr 1.3.41
xine plugin 0.7.6
streamdev cvs around may 2005

I run
# vdr -Pxine -Pstreamdev-client
SetVideoFormat: 0

and on anther konsol window

but I get no [video|sound|osd]

I've noticed that the modified time stamp for the 4 files
stream* doesn't change over time
I think it should change as when I use xine plugin on my server
to watch locally
