dvd-plugin libdvdread working, now fails????

Hi.
I've been using the DVD plugin for ages, but yesterday after installing VLC 
and VLC-DEVEL from livna (and all associated dependencies) it now fails.

I don't know if the VLC install is related to this problem with libdvdread, 
but it was the only change I made.

When I try and play an encrypted DVD now, I get:

In the past I've had no problems playing this DVD.

Any ideas?
