I have added a comment to bug 4981 and linked to a patch I found in the last few days on lkml: http://lkml.org/lkml/2006/7/2/89 I am also attempting to hack up the 2.6.15 Dapper kernel I'm running to include an equivalent patch (the lines in question seem to have changed between 2.6.15 and 2.6.17).
