Cutting top few lines off with the xine plugin?

Softdevice has an option to trim lines off the top/bottom/sides, in 
which case I used to trim off VBI data at the top of some channels, is 
there a way to do this with the xine plugin? or even directly with xine 
itself thru some postprocessing/cropping methods?
