Well, I didn't protest because it was almost enough form me, but I think it hasn't been well received because it was the wrong fix. I think that the "right" fix would be to make all plugins' main menu behave like a cOsdMenu, even if they're not cOsdMenu derivative (i.e. they're simple cOsdObjects).
