Not unless you are using an output plugin that does it, such as
softdevice (http://softdevice.berlios.de/).  If I were you, I'd try
the XV output of softdevice.

(My VDR box runs a budget DVB-T card and softdevice on DirectFB.)

It looks like your DVB tuner lacks video output, i.e., it is not
a full-featured card.  Use softdevice or some other output plugin.
